Yardley, PA – Journal Register Company, a leading multi-media company in local news and information announced today a major citizen journalism initiative in conjunction with SeeClickFix and that company’s unique program to empower citizens to improve their communities.

Starting immediately, all 18 of the Journal Register Company’s daily newspapers and online publications in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Michigan and Ohio are partnering with www.SeeClickFix.com in the communities they serve.

The partnership provides SeeClickFix portal pages on Journal Register Company websites that will allow users to observe, report and follow issues in their communities. Website users will be able to create watch areas and track items ranging from poor road conditions to blighted buildings in their communities.

* Highlighting those who participate and make a difference through news reports.

“Our job is to serve our communities through quality journalism. Our partnership with SeeClickFix will help us do our job much better,” said John Paton, Chief Executive Officer of Journal Register Company. “The new ecological system for news recognizes that our citizens, harnessing the power of digital devices, play a vital role in covering a community. SeeClickFix and our websites will provide the necessary tools for those citizen journalists,” Mr. Paton said.
