We have created watch areas for all of the Police Lieutenants and we are already getting feedback that some Lieutenants have been very quick to respond to SeeClickFix alerts in their areas.
If you are in New Haven, try reporting a non-emergency policing issue. If you're outside of New Haven, try the same and as well help your police department set up watch areas of their own.

SeeClickFix and Non-Emergency Policing
Thursday, January 8, 2009 - By Unknown - No comments
SeeClickFix was invited by New Haven Police Chief Lewis to speak to top brass this morning about using the site to be kept abreast of policing issues such as speeding, drug dealing and prostitution.
The Chief asked if we would mind creating watch areas for all of his Lieutenants in the 10 policing districts of New Haven. We will be working to map those over the next day or so. Anyone who wants to volunteer to help...feel free to shoot us an email. :-)
SeeClickFix remains very excited and positive about the progressive and transparent governing of its founders' community: New Haven.
SeeClickFix on the front page of The New Haven Register

Though its not the most glamorous SeeClickFix issue it did generate enough controversy to spark a front page story.
A neighborly dispute documented on a seeclickfix issue about harassment and zoning issues has garnered the attention of neighbors in this West Haven community along with zoning officials, West Haven Police, Public Works, City Councilman and the New Haven Register. Check out the story here: http://www.newhavenregister.com/articles/2009/01/04/news/a1seeclickfix.txt
We'd be interested to hear what you think about the Register's take.
